The 1040 Fest is an annual event in Birmingham, Alabama. Mostly, it’s a celebration of the end of the tax season, which is actually a really big reason to feel festive and merry, whichever way you look at it.

The 1040 Fest is celebrated with hot dogs, music, and many other things. It is usually held during the last day of the tax filing, so whenever the event is also usually met with by a number of late filers. The event is mostly a community thing, as there aren’t really much plans set, as it is an “unprecedented” celebration. Those who want to take part of the festivities are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets, food and drink.

The 1040 Fest is sponsored by Birmingham’s Central City Neighborhood Association.
