The Airmount Grave Shelter is a historic structure in Thomasville, Alabama. It is also known as the Hope Family Grave Shelter, being owned and built for the Hope family by member John Hope.
Built in 1853, the Airmount Grave Shelter is quite odd for the other structures of the same sort. Usually, these grave houses only protect a single grave, so the fact that this one covers six is quite peculiar.
The Airmount Grave Shelter is also noted for its architecture. It was constructed in the vernacular Greek Revival style using red bricks and gabled rooging. The interiors have a wooden vaulted ceiling.
The Airmount Grave Shelter is located inside the Airmount Cemetery, thus the name. It was also listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
