The Alabama Jubilee Hot-Air Balloon Classic is an annual event in Decatur, Alabama. It is usually held during the Memorial Day weekend.

The Alabama Jubilee Hot Air Balloon Classic is one of the oldest hot air balloon races in the South. It was started in 1978 with a competition among 17 balloonists from other neighboring states.

Today, the Alabama Jubilee Hot Air Balloon Classic is an excellent way to kick off the state’s tourism season, as well as to represent the city of Decatur. This big event rakes in up to about 60 pilots from different states all over the country. This event also made it possible for the city of Decatur to become known as the “Ballooning Capital of Alabama”.
