The Alabama River Museum is a historical museum located in Franklin, Alabama. It is named after its location, as the building is situated right along the banks of the Alabama River.

The Alabama Rive Museum features a wide range of displays that can take visitors back to more than 60 million years ago with the fossils found at the Claiborne Bluff. These ancient fossils chronicle the natural history of the area.

The site also tells about the Native Americans that once called the area their home. They have artifacts telling more about the ancient Indians up to the memorabilia related to the steamboat period of the locale.

The Alabama River Museum is currently closed, though, but you can always check their site about their future schedules.
