The Alabama Rural Heritage Center is the headquarters of the Alabama Rural Heritage Foundation, a non-profit organization that advocates for the promotion and development of the arts from the rural areas of the state. It is located in Thomaston, Alabama, in what was the former site of the Marengo County High School.
The Alabama Rural Heritage Center features a number of things on their site. If you ever decide to visit, you can take a look around their folk art gallery and their gift shop. They also have a commercial production kitchen where they make local food products that they sell under the ?Mama ?nems? trademark. These products are from the recipes developed by the Auburn University College of Human Sciences with the aid of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The Alabama Rural Heritage Center is also the home of the annual Rural Fun Day, a summer festival.
