The Aldrich Coal Mine Museum is a historic museum in Montevallo, Alabama. It celebrates the area?s mining past. The museum features the colorful mining beginnings of the area, with the site being inside the former Montevallo Coal Mine.
Housed in the historic 1908 company store of the Montevallo Coal Mining Company, the Aldrich Mine Museum features displays that chronicle the life back during the mining days. On display are memorabilia and photographs of the town of Aldrich during the peak of its coal mining days. Mining equipment is also in display, as well as a simulated coal mine slope that is known as the Rajah Slope.
The Aldrich Coal Mine Museum is open every Thursdays through Sundays, with a varying schedule. Appointments are also allowed to be arranged.
