The Ashville Museum and Archives is a small museum in Ashville, Alabama focused on local history. It chronicles and shares the colorful past of the area through the use of memorabilia, county records and newspapers.
Located inside the historic St. Clair County Courthouse, the Ashville Museum and Archives is best described as an excellent location and research resource for genealogists and historians. A number of rare publications including books, newspapers, and other public documents can be accessed here, some dating as early as the late 1870s. A limited amount if cemetery records are also available here.
The Ashville Museum and Archives is open year round, Mondays through Fridays, from 8 am to 5 pm, except for lunch breaks at 12-1 pm.
