The Alabama Christian Movement for Human Rights is a very notable organization during the mid 1900s. They have helped largely in enforcing the actions to stop the segregation system that was the biggest issue at the time. They played a very crucial role in the enforcement of public transportation desegregation.
Despite being bombed on three different occasions in the past, the Bethel Baptist Church still stands proud until this day. Due to its participation on the desegregation actions, it was declared a National Historic Landmark in 2005.
