The Capri Theatre is a historic site in Montgomery, Alabama. It is actually a movie house famous for being the only independent cinema in the city. It is also qualified as a “movie theatre arthouse.”

The Capri Theatre traces its history back to 1941 when it was built. It was the first neighborhood theatre around. It was originally known as The Clover, being located at the historic area known as Old Clover. When it was remodeled in 1962, it was renamed as The Capri. Aside from its shows, it is also highly favored by tourists as it is located in an area filled with historic homes and mansions.

Run and operated by the Capri Community Film Society, the Capri Theatre is also a member of the League of Historic American Theatres.
