The Carl Elliot House Museum is a historic house museum located in Jasper, Alabama. Its main focus is the life and times of Carl Elliot, a former congressman who pioneered with the Library Services Act and the National Defense Education Act.

The Carl Elliot House Museum is a very interesting place to visit, mainly for its connection to such a great man. Elliot lived during a tumultuous time in the history of Alabama and the country in general, being the peak of the Civil Rights Movement era. He fought for racial tolerance and some of his actions caused him political exile and even financial ruin. This didn?t stop him from being a great citizen, though, and he was honored later on.

The Carl Elliot House Museum tells of all of Elliot?s achievements and struggles. The site is open on weekdays, except on Wednesdays, from 9 am to 5 pm.
