The Children?s Hands-On Museum of Tuscaloosa is literally a hands-on museum because of the interactive exhibitions around the museum. The museum encourages the children to learn but at the same time not get bored and still have fun. The museum provides many exhibits that are designed to interact entertain, stimulate understanding of the community and the surroundings.

The museum can be compared to a learning playground where there are many sections to explore. Exhibits like Lil Sprouts Market where children can play farmer and customer, teaches kids the importance of vegetables to keep the body healthy. The Captain Tim Parker is an exhibit about river transportation in Alabama where children can learn in a wheelhouse of a towboat. One of the most famous exhibits is the Space Station where kids learn about the outer space. Another famous exhibit is Grandmother?s attic where kids can dress up in costumes in different eras to learn about history. There is also the Japanese House which is a replica of a traditional Japanese home wherein kids learn the Japanese concept of beauty in simplicity and closeness to nature.
