The Christ Episcopal Church is a historic church in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. It was organized in 1828 by thirteen men who moved fast and also elected the church?s first vestry the same night. The church was built immediately after the design and mandate of the architect William Nichols who was hired to take charge of the whole construction process.

The total initial costs of the building of the Christ Episcopal Church amounted to $1700. The congregation earned the money back by selling the pews for bids that started at $75 to $150 and by renting it for $8 a year. When the building was completed, it was used by the University of Alabama for charter ceremonies. It was enlarged in 1882, and several other changes followed afterwards.

Today, the Christ Episcopal Church is a part of the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage, mostly for being the oldest church in the diocese.
