Crossing the inlet to Oxford Lake is the Coldwater Covered Bridge, a historic covered span in Oxford, Alabama. It was built in 1850 and is also called the Coldwater Creek Covered Bridge.

The Coldwater Covered Bridge is mostly a pedestrian bridge, mostly since it is already old, small, and made of wood. It is made in the Multiple King-post truss over a single span design. It measures 60 feet in length and is considered as the oldest covered bridge that is still of existence in Alabama, being built in 1850, although some claim that it was completed as early as 1839.

The Coldwater Covered Bridge was originally located across the Coldwater Creek, thus the name. It was moved to Oxford Lake Park in 1990, where it was restored.
