The Dothan Area Botanical Gardens is a garden in Dothan, Alabama. It is a 50-acre site allocated to serve as a non-profit, public garden. Founded in 1996, and well within its second decade, it is already being considered as one of the finest small city botanical gardens in the country.
The Dothan Area Botanical Gardens currently features 15 specialty gardens in its 50-acre tract of land. It started with a Rose Garden in 1997 and then the others followed suit afterwards. Today, the site has an azalea, herb, camellia, hydrangea, fern, succulent, ornamental shrub, and daylily gardens. Themed areas like the butterfly garden, demonstration, meditation, Southern heirloom, cottage, and wedding gardens are also present. There is also a number of walking paths, preserved wilderness areas, water features, and beautiful landscapes in the site.
