The El Cazador Museum is a maritime museum in Grand Bay, Alabama. It focuses on the history of the El Cazador, the ship that was supposed to deliver fresh supplies to New Orleans during the Spanish occupation in the South.

The El Cazador ship set out on a voyage to Louisiana in 1783 to bring the colony some much needed hard currency. However, it didn’t reach its destination, as by January 11, 1784, it met its end in the waters. In 1993, the trawler Mistake, caught a net full of silver coins with markings of the Spanish mint in Mexico with the date 1783 on them. This marked the shipwreck of the El Cazador.

Today, almost everything about the ship can be learned about in the El Cazador Museum in Grand Bay. They also sell some of the treasures that the ship carried.
