The Eufaula National Wildlife Refuge serves as home for migratory birds like the waterfowl. It has over 280 species that have been recorded to include the bald eagle, the wood stork and the American alligator. Several visitors can enjoy numerous nature trails and even stay in observation towers so that you can enjoy the bird watching activity all the more. This serves as an amazing wildlife observation attraction.
It was started in 1964 with the help and unity of community support with the cooperation of the US Army Corps of Engineers. The most popular feature of the refuge would be the Lake Eufaula and other feeder streams. It remains true to its purpose of rendering a habitat for the many birds that migrate each year.
