The Gulf State Park is a state park and recreation area in Gulf Shores, Alabama. It covers 6150 acres of area on the Gulf of Mexico.
The Gulf State Park is a well reviewed destination. It attracts people through its 2 mile long white sand beach which is perfect for swimming, water skiing, and other water sports. Aside from the beach, there?s also a freshwater lake, the Lake Shelby, which is available for fishing, boating, and swimming as well. If you?re not up for some water-related activities, you can still have a good time at the site through its tennis courts, 18-hole golf course, picnic areas, campsites, and nature trails just to name a few.
Due to the devastation that the Gulf State Park has received in 2004 due to Hurricane Ivan, some sections of the park are still being renovated and repaired.
