Hardin Center for Cultural Arts is a window of opportunities for those who want to engage in theater, culture and arts. It also provides entertainment and pleasure to families and theater enthusiasts within the Alabama community. The center opened its doors in 1990 with the help of the Gadsden Cultural Foundation. Presently, it receives more than 100,000 visitors for exhibits, functions, and performances that are held at the Center.

The Center features several halls and facilities for exhibits, theater performances, functions and a few others. Currently, the Hardin Center is home to three galleries that displays the national and local exhibits. On the other hand, one of their large halls, the Centerstage, can be utilized for dinner theatres, courtyard concerts, chamber music and other events.

Another highlight within the Hardin Center is the Imagination Place Children?s Museum, which opened also in 1990. The museum, which is also operated by the Center, can be found across the Center?s building. The museum showcases exhibits and promotes arts and science activities to enrich the knowledge of the children. The Imagination Place also offers interactive learning through exploration and discovery, hands-on exhibits, and educational programs. Kindergarten and grade school students are highly encouraged to visit, hold their tours, and use the facilities for their learning experience.

The Hardin Center also provides classes in musical and visual arts every year. Novice students can enroll at the Center?s own Gadsden Community School for the Arts for a fee. Classes are divided into 16-week courses during spring and fall and 8-week courses for summer. Some students are required to join a one-on-one session with the instructor while others are taught in a group setting.

Rentals for halls and other facilities within the Center are accepted. Individuals, groups or organizations may use the halls for board meetings, wedding receptions, club meetings, corporate dinners, and more.

Those who are interested to visit the Hardin Center for Cultural Arts may drop by every Mondays to Saturdays during office hours, at Gadsden, Alabama.
