The May Day Park & Pier is a public venue in Daphne, Alabama. It is mostly a park, equipped with a large amount of open space, dotted with benches and tables for picnicking, and a good deal of trees for shade. There’s also a boat ramp and launch for those interested in boating.
The May Day Park & Pier was dedicated in May 2011 in honor of the late Victor Guarisco. Guarisco served he city of Daphne as a mayor and a council member. He was a public man or more than 40 years and has done a lot for the area. He was also credited for playing a major role in the development of the city.
Aside from being a memorial, the May Day Park & Pier was also created as a way to bring back the May Day tradition to the city.
