The Mobile Greyhound Park is a dog track in Mobile, Alabama. It was established through the efforts and persistence of Maurice ?Casey? Downing, a former Alabama House of Representatives member.
The Mobile Greyhound Park is mostly a recreational site frequented by dog racing fans and enthusiasts. It offers live matinees every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturdays at 1 pm. They have simulcast thoroughbreds and greyhounds nightly, though. They also offer fine dining at the clubhouse.
The home of the greyhound world champion JJ Doc Richard who won 37 consecutive wins, the Mobile Greyhound Park has helped generate a great amount of taxes through the years. The money was allocated to various projects and funding programs all throughout the Mobile, Alabama community.
