The Mockingbird Month is an event that celebrates the classic novel of Harper Lee that goes by the same title. It is celebrating its 50th year at present and visitors are somehow transported back to the sleepy and tiny town of Alabama way back in the thirties.

It is in the Princess Theatre Center for the Performing Arts that reading sessions are held which focus alone on the Pulitzer Prize winning book. It is composed of activities which count to more than 40 and it will take place in the Big Read Decatur every October. This is a perfect event to be attended not just by the fans of the author but also for the bookworms spread out across the state.
