Widely known today as Buena Vista, the Montgomery-Janes-Whittaker House is a historic plantation house located near Prattville, Alabama. It is a Federal style building, noted mostly for its excellent architecture.

The Montgomery-Janes-Whittaker House?s construction isn?t very clear, however. It is said that construction was started in 1822, but it wasn?t certain whether it was for John W. Freeman or Josiah Huie who were the two first owners of the lot. It was completed in 1844, though, by William Montgomery. In 1910, it was acquired by Mary Emma Scott Stewart and then in 1935 to Jacob Janes. Two years later it was acquired by Fred Whittaker. In 1982, it was sold to the Union Camp Corporation who paved the way for the Autauga County Heritage Association to preserve the house.

The Montgomery-Janes-Whittaker House is now a historic house museum.
