The Montgomery Zoo is a zoo in Montgomery, Alabama. It offers a wide array of animals from different parts of the world.

The Montgomery Zoo was established originally as the Oak Park Zoo in 1935, after its location, the Oak Park. However, in 1974, it was re-established and moved to its present location in Montgomery. It currently features 48 acres worth of area with about 500 species of animals. Aside from the wildlife, it also features the Overlook Caf?, which offers a panoramic view of the site. There?s also an old world aviary inside the caf?. A miniature train ride is also available on the site, as well as a small lake that offers paddle boat rentals.

The Montgomery Zoo is now an independent city department and is no longer under the Parks and Recreation Department. It is also one of the only two zoos in the state of Alabama that is AZA accredited.
