The National Peanut Festival is an annual event held in Dothan, Alabama. This is the largest peanut festival in the United States.

Dothan is the largest producer of peanuts in the country. This is why, in honor to one of the city?s primary sources of income, they celebrate the National Peanut Festival. The event pays tribute to the peanut growers and celebrates the harvest season, as the event is annually held around fall.

The National Peanut Festival includes various events like contests, amusement rides, animal acts, agricultural displays, live entertainment, arts and crafts displays, parades, beauty pageants, and, of course, food. The contests are usually the highlight of the festivities, since there are tons of various categories that people can join. There?s cake decorating, costume contest, cheerleading, and photography just to name a few.
