The Old Courthouse Museum is a historic site in Monroeville, Alabama. The museum is mostly a living proof of the past of the Monroe County, as well as a real life version of the setting of the world famous novel, ?To Kill a Mockingbird?.

The city of Monroeville is quite a well known location for being the hometown of well known authors, Harper Lee and Truman Capote. It is, however, best noted, for being the template of the fictional town of Maycomb, Alabama, where the novel is set. The infamous courtroom on the novel is said to have been based upon the Old Monroe County Courthouse, especially since Lee?s father was also a lawyer back in the day.

With the great attention that the novel has helped the city of Monroeville to achieve, the local government decided to transform the old courthouse into the Old Courthouse Museum, featuring the site where the novel is heavily based on. The site is ultimately popular among the fans of the book.
