The Old Town Historic District is another historic area in Huntsville, Alabama. It was created after the declaration of the Twickenham Historic District, which managed to exclude some other 19th century homes in the city.

The Old Town Historic District was established through the efforts of Charles and Frances Rice in 1973. The idea was suggested by Harvie Jones, a local architect. Jones recommended that the couple should have another historic district recognized, since there are a couple of other 19th century homes in the area that wasn?t commemorated enough by not being a part of the Twickenham Historic District.

The Old Town Historic District was realized with the help of former mayor Joe W. Davis and Senator John Sparkman. Today, it stands as another historic area in the city of Huntsville.
