The Old Union Crossing Covered Bridge is a Stringer truss construction over three spans covered bridge in DeKalb County, Alabama. It is situated between the Shady Grove Dude Ranch and the Cloudmount Ski & Golf Resort on an access road between the two locations.
Built around 1863, the Old Union Crossing Covered Bridge is one of the five covered bridges in the state of Alabama that has been built before 1950 that is still of existence today. Sadly, it is also one of the 5 that is not on the National Register of Historic Places, mostly because of being rebuilt and losing most of its integrity.
The Old Union Crossing Covered Bridge got its name from its builders, some Union Army troops. It was originally built over the Otter Creek and was moved to its current located in the 1980s.
