The Sardis Baptist Church is a historic church located near the city of Union Springs, Alabama. It was built in 1850 but its history goes back even before that. The current one was built in replacement to the log cabin structure erected in 1841.
Noted for being an excellent example of rural antebellum church architecture in the Greek revival style, the Sardis Baptist Church landed listings on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001 and on the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage in 1991. It is relatively unaltered since initial completion, although some restorations and repairs took place in the early 1940s and 1990s.
The Sardis Baptist Church has also served as the home of the Sardis School around the 1860s. However, the community school closed down and the building was moved to the Livingston Paulk home later on.
