The Spirit of America Festival is an annual event in Decatur, Alabama. It is best known for being one of the largest free celebrations of Fourth of July in the South.

The Spirit of America Festival is a two day outdoor festival held at the Point Mallard Park. It started out in 1967 as a way for the locals to show their support of the service men and women that are in Vietnam, as well as to promote patriotism through a great celebration of the Fourth of July. It features a number of great events like the Miss Point Mallard pageant, which is a Miss America preliminary pageant. It is also the home of the Audie Murphy Patriotism Award, given to an ?outstanding American patriot? or an outstanding group of individuals that best show the true ?Spirit of America?.
