Also known as the St. Andrew’s Church is the St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Prairieville, Alabama. The church is basically a small Carpenter Gothic building. It was built in 1853 and is actually a very interesting structure, architecture-wise.

The St. Andew’s Episcopal Church is built after the design of one of the most notable 19th century architects, Richard Upjohn. He did not actually work in this particular building, but the design was lifted from Upjohn’s book, ‘Rural Architecture’. It is virtually unaltered from inside and out.

The St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1973 for its excellent architecture. It is currently known as one of the most exceptional examples of the picturesque trend in American church building in the Southeast region.
