Also known as ?The Lodge?, the Stephen Beech Cleveland House is a historic house in Suggsville, Alabama. It was built in 1860 by Stephen Beech Cleveland, who earned the money for the construction after he joined the California gold rush. After working in the mines, he came back to Suggsville and settled down.

The Stephen Beech Cleveland House is a noted historic home for its architecture, which was done in what is known as the Mid 19th Century revival style. However, it is also locally known and noted for being haunted, following the sad story of the original owner?s family.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage, the Stephen Beech Cleveland House is also believed to be haunted by the spirit of Cleveland himself.
