Back in the mid 1800s, the city of Stevenson, Alabama was a very vital link to the Southeastern region of the country. It was crossed by a railroad to ease the transportation methods in the area and make it simpler to one point to another. This is one of the reasons why it is just normal that it become a monument to the city?s past.

Today, the Stevenson Railroad Depot Museum serves as a window to the past. It shows visitors the history of the city, as well as the historic building?s significant participation in the railroading history. It features artifacts related to the railroading industry, as well as Native American culture, the Civil War, and pioneer life.

The Stevenson Railroad Depot Museum is housed in the historic railroad depot of the city built in 1872.
