The city of Monroeville has always been proud of its connection with the world-famous author, Harper Lee and her classic novel, ?To Kill a Mockingbird?. The book has always been a great way to chronicle the area?s past and history, making it an integral part of the area.

This is why as a celebration to such an excellent masterpiece, the city of Monroeville stages a performance of the novel every year. The To Kill a Mockingbird Annual Production is regularly headed by the Old Courthouse Museum. The performance is staged annually by the Mockingbird Players, an amateur theatre group in the city. They started to do the play in 1991 and it proved to be a big hit, especially with the number of fans flocking to the city to see the museum, and now, to see the play.
