The Walls of Jericho is a natural site and attraction in Jackson County, Alabama. It is a half mile worth of narrow, wooded canyon.

Commonly referred to as the ?Grand Canyon of the South?, the Walls of Jericho traces its roots back to the late 1800s, when it got its name. A minister stumbled upon the area and was so awestruck that he declared that the site required a biblical name. The site is home to 17 species of rare mussel, aside from a wide array of flora and fauna.

The Walls of Jericho also commonly attracts several nature enthusiasts, hikers, amateur photographers, birdwatchers, and horseback riders every year. It used to be closed to the public, but in 2004, it was opened and became an Alabama State Park.
