The Washington Firehouse No. 5 is a historic building in Mobile, Alabama. It was built in 1851 to house the Washington Fire Company, a privately run company, since back then, there were several establishments of the sort.
The Washington Firehouse No. 5 is best noted for its architecture. It was made in the Greek Revival style with a Doric distyle-in-antis arrangement. Due to its architectural features, it was documented by the Historic American Buildings Survey in 1936. This also helped the site become a part of the National Register of Historic Places.
The Washington Firehouse No. 5 is also a part of the Dauphin Street Walking Tour, featuring a series of historic homes and structures that date back to the early years of the city of Mobile.
