The Winter Place is a historic complex in Montgomery, Alabama. It is composed of two historic houses that are conjoined, and three other outbuildings. All of these five structures were built around the 1840s to the 1870s.

The Winter Place got its name from the family that owned and took residence in it; the Winters. The oldest structure was built in 1841 by John Gindrat, initially for housing the Bank of St. Mary?s. In 1854, he willed it to his daughter who married Joseph Winter. The other structures were built by Winter?s daughter, Sally and her husband Robert D. Thorington.

Currently, the Winter Place is under restorations and renovations under the supervision of its new owner, Craig Drescher. If you?re interested in learning more about it, you can always check out their official website for additional information.
