The State of Alaska would have never thrived if not for its historic connection with aviation. Retelling Alaska?s aviation history, displaying and preserving antique aircrafts and other memorabilia, and honoring great Alaskan aviators are the primary tasks of the Alaska Aviation Museum. It is a place to remember and learn about the endeavors of brave Alaskans who worked together to establish the Alaskan borders, brought in medical supplies and mail, and flew in with their aircrafts to conduct emergency rescues.
Located on Lake Hood seaport in Anchorage, the Alaska Aviation Museum houses three theaters, a flight simulator, four hangars, a restoration hangar and restored antique aircrafts. They also have a souvenir shop and provide free transfer services from the Anchorage airport and free storage for travelers? luggage.
