The Alaska Botanical Garden is a garden in Anchorage, Alaska. It is best known for being the best place to learn about the native flora of the Southcentral Alaska.
The concept of the Alaska Botanical Garden came up in 1983 when the members of the Alaska Horticultural Association planned of creating an arboretum. By 1990, the group acquired land through an agreement with the local government, and by 1993, the garden opened to the public.
Today, the Alaska Botanical Garden, with its 110 acres of perennial, herb, and alpine rock gardens as well as nature trails, is a must-see when in the city of Anchorage. Luckily, they?re open all year round, so you can always drop by, in case you?re in the area.
