The Alaska Day Festival celebrates the transfer of Alaska from Russia right to the hands of the United States on October 18, 1867. It happened on Sitka?s Castle Hill. The celebration last for four days each year. You can expect a lot of activities happening during the event from concerts, costume parties, dinners, dances and a grand parade. This particular festival is held every middle of October right while the rest of the state also celebrates Alaska Day which is considered to be a state holiday too.

Such events held in Alaska are given much priority by its communities. It gathers up people from all over the state to celebrate their own roots and remember how they all started with their own unique heritage and rich culture. The celebration is so festive that it is enjoyed by audience and participants of all ages, whether adults or kids.
