The Anchorage Light Speed Planet Walk is a fun and educational project by the Anchorage Rotary Club for their centennial celebration. It is actually a series of stops in the downtown area, providing people an experience of the Solar System, as if they are walking to get to the planets on the speed of light.
This idea is made possible by the Service High School Graduate, Eli Menaker?s design. He made a scale of the Solar System that fits into the downtown neighborhoood. Each step is equal to the distance of light when it travels in one second around the Solar System.

The Anchorage Light Speed Planet Walk can be started from the Sun station located at the 5th and G and ends at 5th and K. It usually takes 8 minutes to complete the tour, except if you stop by at the Imaginarium and listened to one of their regular lectures.
