Inside The Anchorage Museum are hundred years of Alaskan heritage and history. Housed inside are priceless collections of various objects and artifacts depicting the richness of Alaskan art, science, and history. About 17,500 objects, 2,000 artifacts and 350,000 historical photographs will greet the Museum’s thousand visitors from within Alaska and around the world.

Among the exhibits are photos of early Russian settlers and Gold Rush-era pioneers; life-size dioramas of 1920s Alaskan life; traditional homes of the Alaskan natives such as Aleuts, Eskimos and Indians; and various loans from the Imaginarium Discovery Center and Smithsonian Arctic Studies Center.

From its official site, the Anchorage Museum “brings the best of Alaska to the world and the best of the world to Alaska”.
