Located on the Umnak Island in the Aleutian Islands is the Cape Field at Fort Glenn, a World War II installation and historic district in the state of Alaska. It is noted for being a significant WWII site as it provided a good deal of aerial defense for the Unalaska Bay bases.

Built in 1942, the Cape Field at Fort Glenn is also known as the Umnak Airport. It served as the US Army?s westernmost airfield in the Aleutians at some point. It participated in the counter attack to the Japanese when they struck on the Dutch Harbor installations in Amaknak Island.

The Cape Field at Fort Glenn was closed in 1950 but it did contribute a lot to the WWII successes of the US Army. It is now a National Historic Landmark District.
