The Copper River Delta Shorebird Festival is a well known annual event celebrated in Cordova, Alaska. It takes place in the Prince William Sound and the Copper River Delta.

Considered as the oldest of the bird watching festivals in all of Alaska, the Copper River Delta Shorebird Festival offers a lot to the general public. Up to almost five million shorebirds migrate to the area every year, making it a bird watcher?s paradise. Some of the bird species that you can find here include hawks, falcons, eagles, cranes, oystercatchers, cormorants, owls, hummingbirds, wood warblers, blackbirds, rosy-finches, and puffins just to name a few.

The Copper River Delta Shorebird Festival is celebrated every first weekend of May when the largest bird migration takes place.
