Everyone knows that in Alaska, summers are short while the winters are long. This is why the locals celebrate summer as much as they could, packing their towns and cities with the best and most amusing summer activities that there is. This is why some find it ironic that the people still feature something like the Ice Museum in Fairbanks, Alaska.

The Ice Museum is basically a place where the displays are mostly ice sculptures kept at 20°F. Some may find this a bit odd, since the place already spends most of its year with ice, so why put up more ice during the only time when there’s none on the ground? Of course, the Fairbanks locals aren’t crazy. They just celebrate their home, and since ice is a part of it, why not present it to their visitors during the only time that there are tons of them around, right?

So, if you’re interested in quite a different feat, make sure to drop by the Ice Museum. It is open from May to September, from 10am to 9pm daily.
