Kenai Fjords National Park Rating: None

If you?ve lived in the mainland all your life then the fjords at this park would almost seem like a natural wonder. A fjord is basically a steep and narrow glacial trough, and it?s something that?s a frequent sight in Norway...and Alaska.

The park, which is situated at the Kenai Peninsula?s very tip, is home to species such as ice worms, polar bears, and whales. The landscape is constantly changing, thanks to frequent ocean storms, earthquakes, and glaciers.

The only road-accessible area at the park is Exit Glacier, where tourists may enjoy ranger-assisted trails alongside active glaciers and beautifully barren views of wintry plant life and habitat. Other parts of the area require visitors to travel either by boat or kayak, which are both exciting activities by themselves.
