The Mayor’s Marathon of Anchorage, Alaska is a yearly event in celebration of the state’s summer solstice. It has always promoted healthy bodies, but in line of the recent awareness about Mother Earth, it is also promoting Earth-friendliness as well.

The Mayor’s Marathon has been attracting runners from all over the world for three years now. And just like most other marathons, the event also supports various causes. In the recent years, most of the marathon participants are visitors and not from the state. This helps a lot, as it not only promotes the city’s tourism, but also aids in spreading the cause.
