The Aleutian Islands is well known to be a historic area in all of Alaska. It has been home to many different native Alaskan groups for the past thousands of years. However, it is also the least studied area, despite experts knowing its archaeological value and significance.

If you?re interested in what the region can tell you about the past, you don?t need to be Indiana Jones for that. You can always head on to the Museum of the Aleutians in Unalaska, Alaska. The site features collections of artifacts and exhibits, chronicling the more than ten thousand years of human history in the Aleutian and Unalaska regions.

The Museum of the Aleutians is open year round with varying schedules. Check with their website for the dates and times of their opening.
