Hosted by the Cook Inlet Tribal Council, the Native Youth Olympics is a well known sporting event in Anchorage, Alaska. It is basically where young Native Alaskan kids compete in traditional games and events. Most challenges will show these community members? skills and abilities, most of which are tests for survival, just like how their ancestors survived back in the early days.

The Native Youth Olympics has tons of charms as it clearly demonstrates the strength, skill, and agility of its participants. Participation is usually open for Alaska residents in grade 6 to 12, but visitors are all welcome to partake in the celebrations. There will also be cultural performances, flea markets, and concerts during the event.

The Native Youth Olympics is annually held around the month of May.
