The Perseverance Theatre is the only full time professional theatre company in the entire state of Alaska. It is noted for having several magnificent plays premiere under its roof, one of which is ?The Mineola Twins? in 1996, which gained national acclaim and led to its playwright Paula Vogel winning a Pulitzer Prize. It has also featured several shows that have won Tony Awards in the past.

The Perseverance Theatre was founded in 1979 as a grassroots organization. It manages to reflect the Alaskan community; making most of its shows speak of and to the Alaskan experience.

Along with its shows, the Perseverance Theatre is as interesting as a company and location as well. So, if you happen to be in Juneau sometime around the months of September through May, make sure to check out one of their shows.
