Also known simply as the Sheldon Museum, the Sheldon Museum and Cultural Center is the best place to learn more about the past of the Chilkat Valley. Located in Haines, Alaska, the museum answers tons of questions commonly asked in relation with the local history and culture.

Like many other local museums, the Sheldon Museum and Cultural Center focuses on the local history of Haines and the Chilkat Valley. It features tons of displays showing visitors the art and culture of the Native Tlingit people as well as the area?s pioneers. It also tells of the gold rush era through memorabilia and artifacts. Aside from the displays, there are also educational programs offered so visitors can learn more.
